FindTrend

Find rising video niches before they get crowded

FindTrend is a research tool for YouTube creators. Every day it looks at recently published public videos, groups them into topics and estimates which topics are gaining momentum, so a creator can decide what to make next.

Private beta. The dashboard is available only to invited testers. Reviewers from the YouTube API compliance team receive access details together with the audit application.

How it works

  1. Collect. Public video and channel information is retrieved through the YouTube Data API for a set of subject areas.
  2. Group. Videos about the same subject are grouped into topics.
  3. Estimate. For each topic FindTrend calculates its own estimates, such as how quickly views are accelerating and how much competition there is.
  4. Check. Each day's estimates are logged and later compared with what actually happened, so the method is measured rather than assumed.

What FindTrend does not do

  • It does not ask anyone to sign in with a YouTube or Google account.
  • It does not access private data or act on any YouTube channel.
  • It does not download, host or re-publish videos.
  • It does not post, comment, like or subscribe on anyone's behalf.

Data and attribution

FindTrend uses YouTube API Services. Scores, topic groupings and growth figures are FindTrend's own estimates; they are not YouTube data or metrics published by YouTube. Data retrieved from YouTube is kept for at most 29 days. FindTrend is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google. See the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
